Diesel Mechanic Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Miller Transportation Group. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair engine fault codes using company-supplied OEM software
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including brake repairs, steering component replacements, and suspension alignments
  • Replace clutches and transmissions
  • Other duties as required for fleet maintenance
Requirements:
  • Completed technical school or equivalent experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
  • Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
  • A valid CDL (Class A or B) desired, or the ability to acquire one with the assistance of our trainer
  • Hand tools
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including 1st shift (Tuesday through Saturday) and 2nd shift (Monday through Friday)
