Job Title: Logistics Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to join our team at Amcor plc. As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for managing the logistics group in all traffic operations, including shipment of all finished goods at the operating site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the receiving, raw material warehousing, and inventory control operation, including internally produced and purchased raw materials.
  • Supervise the inventory control and inventory management functions, ensuring accurate inventories are maintained.
  • Establish procedures, documents, and work instructions for the raw material, receiving, and inventory management systems.
  • Train personnel and hold them accountable for following those procedures.
  • Oversee the inventory management system(s) for finished goods, raw materials, and WIP, working on system improvements to increase inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform cycle counting of WIP, raw, and finished goods warehouse.
  • Supervise department hourly staff, providing work direction, compliance with Company policies and procedures, department training, administration of vacations, overtime, and discipline.
  • Work with shift supervision to resolve material handling issues related to warehousing or inventory movements.
  • Review warehousing and IC systems, recommending improvements to management as appropriate.
  • Ensure combining of loads for inbound and outbound trucks to meet service requirements and cost-effective traffic control measures.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded properly, accurately, and on time.
  • Provide backup support to department staff as needed.
  • Facilitate daily billing of appropriate freight charges for proper invoicing requirements.
  • Work to resolve in-transit damage issues, investigating the reason why and assisting with holding the carriers responsible for the damage.
  • Assist and oversee the resolution of logistics-related issues such as labeling mistakes, packing list problems, and misplaced product within the warehouse.
  • Work with Corporate Logistics to review carrier service levels and define needs.
  • Coordinate and participate in daily entering of receipt of raw materials and supplies.
  • Perform inventory re-allocations, movements, and dispositions.
  • Troubleshoot SAP functions related to finished goods and raw materials.
  • Assist in the creation, support, and implementation of a safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Assist with department budgeting as requested.
  • Coordinate shipping schedule.
  • Facilitate daily reporting and communications to Production, Customer Service, and carriers regarding timing of shipments in regard to meeting customer delivery expectations and cost-effective traffic requirements.
  • Process customer returns as needed to assist with QA functions.
  • Control raw materials and packaging supplies recycling program.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or logistics required with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience in the logistics field.
