Auto Damage Appraiser

As a skilled Auto Damage Appraiser at Chubb, you will play a critical role in restoring damaged vehicles to their pre-damage condition. You will be responsible for handling moderate complexity claims within assigned authority limits, consistent with company policy and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare itemized appraisals indicating costs of parts, materials, and labor necessary to restore damaged vehicles to their pre-damage condition.
- Provide technical advice on vehicle repair, parts costs, garage expertise, and opinions on whether specific damage is related to an accident.
- Complete auto repair facility and independent re-inspections, supplements as warranted to verify damage or confirm repairs are completed.
- Resolve disagreements and negotiate with auto repair facilities, Independent Adjusters, claimants, and policyholders.
- Evaluate claims for potential fraud or subrogation.
- May be called upon for catastrophe duty.
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in insurance industry or related auto estimating experience. The ideal candidate will possess skills and proficiency in the following areas:
- Strong knowledge of current OEM collision repair procedures and determining repair costs.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle damage and loss evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle estimating databases.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
We require a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of insurance claims or related field experience.
