Job Responsibilities
This role supports campus-wide housekeeping activities and assists other Facilities services groups in achieving their mission to provide proactive, professional, and cost-effective customer-oriented services. The Housekeeper I position encompasses general housekeeping duties in residence halls, academic, athletic, and administration buildings. Attention to cleaning details is crucial to this position.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Emptying and spot-cleaning waste receptacles, including replacement of liners.
  • Emptying recycling containers as required.
  • Cleaning and maintaining floors, carpets, walls, and stairwells in assigned areas using appropriate chemicals and equipment.
  • Spot-cleaning carpets as required.
  • Dusting, cleaning, and polishing building surfaces, shelves, HVAC vents, cabinets, and furniture.
  • Cleaning chalk/marker boards.
  • Returning classroom furniture and other furniture such as lounges to proper positions.
  • Cleaning, polishing, and disinfecting bathroom fixtures, including toilets, showers, water fountains, partitions, walls, floors, and replenishing bathroom supplies.
  • Washing interior and exterior windows.
  • Maintaining housekeeping closets and cleaning equipment properly.
  • Completing reports and supply request forms.
  • Assisting with set-up and/or teardown of events and activities.
  • Reporting broken, nonfunctional, or damaged items to supervisors or the Facility Services office.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
