Position Overview
This role is pivotal in facilitating ongoing customer technical initiatives while exploring new business prospects. The individual will oversee the customer technical service team, fostering innovation in chemical and analytical processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and adeptness in managing multiple projects simultaneously. Quick and concise information processing is essential for drawing accurate technical conclusions. This position also involves mentoring technical staff in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the region in developing business and sustaining current accounts by delivering technical solutions and pinpointing areas for continuous enhancement. Address the technical needs of the regional sales and management teams.
- Collaborate with Technical Representatives across the organization to share best practices and product insights.
- Assign projects to team members based on their experience and capabilities, providing guidance as necessary.
- Conduct production system evaluations and troubleshoot issues.
- Guide chemical selection and application, along with preparing and presenting technical recommendations to clients, ensuring validation of chemical selections.
- Maintain familiarity with in-field petroleum production techniques.
- Lead initiatives as directed by technical management to meet industry demands, customer needs, and sales objectives.
- Engage in customer/site visits to support the sales team, strengthen relationships with existing clients, and attract new customers to boost sales.
- Assess all Innospec product lines to identify suitable applications.
- Enhance understanding of product formulation and troubleshooting processes.
- Effectively communicate product information to operational teams and both potential and existing clients.
- Conduct failure analysis and process hazard assessments, making necessary recommendations for adjustments to chemical programs.
- Coordinate with relevant department heads and leverage the internal network for crafting technical proposals.
- Exhibit proven leadership of diverse technical teams.
- Highlight the significance of safe and efficient operations through IOS JHTZ initiatives.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technical staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, including coursework in general chemistry, quantitative analysis, and organic chemistry.
- 10-15 years of relevant industry experience.
- In-depth understanding of Oilfield Production Testing methodologies.
- Recognized subject matter expert (SME) in at least one production chemical product line.
- Prior experience in product formulation.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
