About the Role

This Medical Assistant position plays a vital role in various ambulatory settings, including primary, multi-specialty, and specialty practices. You will be responsible for performing a range of duties, such as assisting providers with patient care, handling administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate records.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you should possess a strong working knowledge of regulatory standards and be able to maintain these standards in daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist providers with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering injections
  • Perform various administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing electronic health records, and communicating with patients and families
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Provide education and support to patients, promoting their understanding and utilization of clinical services
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office
  • Evidence of electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience
  • Preferred experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication, and teamwork skills
Education and Certifications

You must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent and be certified as a Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying body approved by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners. Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association is also required.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
