Job Description: As a travel Ultrasound Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings and experience different patient populations. Your responsibilities will include performing medical imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment to create images or videos of patients' internal structures. You will review patient medical history and physician orders to ensure the correct type of ultrasound procedure is performed, explain the procedure to patients, and prepare ultrasound equipment. Furthermore, you will capture high-quality images that meet medical evaluation and diagnosis criteria, analyze ultrasound images for clarity and completeness, provide preliminary findings or impressions to physicians, and store images in electronic health records. Post-procedure care will involve assisting patients after the procedure, removing gel from their skin, providing aftercare instructions, and advising patients to follow up with their physicians. You will regularly inspect and maintain ultrasound equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and report technical issues. Lastly, you will maintain accurate records of procedures performed, including patient information, images, and reports, and ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make patients feel comfortable during procedures. A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required. Experience working as an Ultrasound Technologist, particularly in a travel setting, is preferred.
Benefits: In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a tax-free stipend amount, which will be determined upon confirmation.
