Job Summary

Building Automation Products, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Production Trainer to join our team. As a Production Trainer, you will be responsible for providing new employee orientation and production training within the manufacturing environment. You will also be responsible for light production assembly work, taking raw materials and assembling them into finished products using engineering prints.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Line Leads to understand basic assembly functions and needs within a given work cell
  2. Assist in the development and revision of training programs (general production, mechanical/electrical assembly, and machine operation)
  3. Lead production new hire orientation and training, ensuring they understand work instructions, safety measures, quality standards, location of key areas, and importance of attendance
  4. Conduct training for current employees transitioning to new cells/lines
  5. Be a point of contact for new hires and employees transitioning to new cells within their first 90 days
  6. Assure competency in cells through teach back, skills quizzes, and checkpoints throughout training
  7. Deliver feedback to new employees and the Production Supervisor on employees' understanding, productivity, areas of strength, and areas for growth, which identifies gaps in an employee's skill level to determine the need for additional training and/or performance management
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years in a manufacturing setting; preference to candidates with experience in onboarding, training, or related experience
  • Technical Certificate and 1-2 years of related experience, or 3-5 years' relatable experience
Working Conditions

The Production Trainer will work in a light manufacturing environment. The position requires sitting at a computer for long periods, bending, stooping, moving about the facility, reaching, and lifting regularly. The position does not require extensive hours or domestic/international travel.
