Position Overview:
The Technician role can be either full-time or part-time, with hourly compensation based on business needs.
The primary responsibility of the Technician is to perform basic vehicle diagnostics and execute routine maintenance and repair services in line with company standards and manufacturer specifications.
This position requires delivering outstanding service to our customers by effectively communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions while consistently meeting expectations for quality and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately identify necessary repairs.
2. Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection for every vehicle, documenting and communicating any additional services or repairs needed.
3. Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts and stocking supplies.
4. Maintain store cleanliness and ensure it meets Monro's standards.
5. Adhere to safety protocols, including Monro's Wheel Torque and Oil safety procedures.
6. Perform road tests in accordance with Monro's policies, ensuring compliance with local traffic laws.
7. Follow company policies and governmental standards, including environmental regulations.
8. Maintain technical knowledge through timely completion of Monro University training courses.
9. Safely operate and maintain all equipment as per manufacturer guidelines.
10. Undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Automotive training or equivalent experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred where applicable.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Required to possess a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.
Profile Summary:
- Capable of performing essential automotive maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ability to diagnose issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
Work Environment:
This position operates in an automotive shop setting, with exposure to moderate noise levels, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, and physical activity required.
