Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Perinatal Registered Nurse to join our team at Christus Health. As a Perinatal Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in the Labor and Delivery Department, utilizing your expertise in nursing practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and complex care to patients in the Labor and Delivery Department, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of the situation.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, utilizing evidence-based practice and the nursing process.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, addressing increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness, and documenting patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferably in a Perinatal setting.
  • Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a Perinatal setting is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • RN License in the state of employment or compact.
  • BLS required.
  • Current certification from NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or AWHONN courses.
  • Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Current NRP certification at time of hire.
Work Schedule

7AM - 7PM, Part-time.
