Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable Management:
    • Conduct thorough data analysis and reconciliation of expenditures, ensuring accurate documentation for invoice preparation and processing reimbursements from various funding sources.
    • Engage with program staff to gather necessary grant billing information.
    • Oversee grant reporting and monitor payments from federal, state, and local entities, providing monthly fiscal summaries to leadership.
    • Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of specific receivable accounts.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation to support submitted invoices for audit purposes.
    • Review and process deposit entries, ensuring accurate journal entries to the general ledger.
    • Communicate with funders regarding any overdue accounts or invoices.
  • Budgeting and Financial Analysis:
    • Assist in the development of budgets for federal, state, and local grants, ensuring alignment with program narratives.
    • Evaluate budgets for compliance with regulations and internal policies.
    • Prepare justifications for budgets based on approved plans and program narratives.
    • Conduct monthly assessments of actual performance against budgeted figures, reporting findings to relevant program leadership.
    • Support grant submissions in various governmental and foundation systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Ability to engage sensitively with diverse socioeconomic and cultural groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • CPR certification is a plus.
