Position Overview:
This role involves performing aerial construction and coax splicing in compliance with NESC, NEC codes, and safety regulations, as well as Mediacom specifications and procedures, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to utility, federal, state, and local codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in general CATV construction practices.
  • Ability to interpret system prints and understand CATV design and operation.
  • Construct strand, lash cables, set bonds, build risers, and install anchors and down guys.
  • Install and lash coax or fiber cables.
  • Place self-supporting cable and inner duct.
  • Drill poles and transfer existing attachments to new poles.
  • Install all cables in accordance with Mediacom specifications and relevant codes.
  • Climb utility poles or operate aerial lift trucks to position cables as per system design.
  • Splice active plant with AC, activate new plant, read tombstones and design prints, and utilize a signal level meter for verification.
  • Conduct safety evaluations and ensure quality in all work performed.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Safely manage and handle all tools and equipment.
  • Train new ground personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Capable of working in various weather conditions.
  • Provide project input to supervisors.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical examination.
  • Familiarity with construction tools and equipment, including bucket trucks and lasher.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to travel and stay out of town when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent handling of heavy objects and materials.
