The Laboratory Manager in the Deaconescu Lab is tasked with overseeing the operations of the research facility, alongside designing and executing independent scientific research initiatives. The primary focus of the laboratory is on stress responses, particularly concerning DNA damage and the mechanochemistry of DNA-based motors. The Deaconescu Lab employs a diverse array of biochemical, biophysical, and structural methodologies, including X-ray crystallography and electron microscopy.
Recent Research Highlights: The lab has contributed to significant publications such as Schwartz et al, Protein Science (2021), Brugger et al, Nature Communications (2020), and Vemu et al, Science (2018).
Position Type: This is a fixed-term role.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with 3-5 years of laboratory or research experience.
- Preferred: A Master's degree in a related discipline.
- Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience in structural biology, biophysical characterization, and biochemistry is highly desirable.
