Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Rhode Island Blood Center. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing testing and quality control procedures to ensure the safety and accuracy of blood products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine donor testing and quality control procedures
  • Properly dispose of components based on test or QC results
  • Work with the Supervisor of Client Testing to ensure appropriate test menus are completed as ordered

Requirements:

  • MLT or equivalent ASCP certification required
  • Must meet testing personnel requirements as described in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 for Highly Complex Laboratory
  • Data entry skills preferred

Working Conditions:

This is a 3x12 hour day position, Wednesday - Friday 7pm - 7am. The proposed hourly wage for the Laboratory Tech I position is $27.66/hour. The proposed hourly wage for the Laboratory Tech II position is $30.80/hour to $31.11/hour. Position is eligible for a $2500 sign-on bonus.
