Job Title: Dentist Health ServicesJob Summary

MDPerm is seeking a skilled Dentist to provide oral health care services for individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the dental clinic, including infection control and environmental health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary oral health care services, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients within prescribed standards.
  • Prescribe and/or dispense medication as needed.
  • Assist with day-to-day technical oversight of dental auxiliary staff and provide input to local dental unit chiefs and supervisory authorities.
  • Maintain strict sharps and instrument control through regular logging and counting.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Implement optimal sterilization and disinfection procedures, including instrument processing and spore testing.
  • Refer patients to dental specialists through the managed care program as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to local facility staff on dental health issues.
  • Provide annual dental training to local medical staff.
  • Collect and organize accurate dental data and submit to the regional dental consultant in a timely manner.
  • Attend monthly dental teleconferences and local duty station meetings.
  • May be required to travel to provide dental care at other sites.
  • Support local medical units and the IHSC Dental Program through equipment maintenance, supply acquisition, and performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) program accredited by the American Dental Association, Commission on Dental Accreditation.
  • One year of recent work experience in the United States as a licensed practicing dentist.
  • Experience in Oral Surgery is mandatory.
