Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to lead the provision of pharmacy services at a detention facility within the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Health Service Corps (IHSC). As a Lead Pharmacist, you will be responsible for managing a team of pharmacists and technicians, providing clinical care services to detainees, and ensuring the effective operation of the pharmacy program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the pharmacy team in providing clinical care services to detainees, including dispensing prescription medications, conducting medical histories and physical examinations, and developing treatment plans.
  2. Manage the pharmacy program, including setting goals, objectives, and direction, and ensuring compliance with IHSC policies and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medical care to detainees, including developing and implementing treatment plans and providing medication counseling.
  4. Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, stocking, and dispensing medications, and conducting monthly inventories of controlled substances.
  5. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, including audits, chart reviews, and development of review criteria.
  6. Provide temporary duty (TDY) coverage to IHSC staffed facilities and special missions as needed.
Requirements
  • PharmD degree and two years of professional experience as a pharmacist.
  • Permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • National Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (NCPS) Certification.
  • Expertise in pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and all management aspects related to the practice of pharmacy in a clinic/infirmary setting.
