We are seeking a skilled Cobol Programmer to join our team at System Soft Technologies. As a Cobol Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems using Cobol programming language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software applications using Cobol programming language
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions
- Develop and maintain high-quality code, following coding standards and secure coding practices
- Participate in Agile development environment, collaborating on designs, estimates, and delivery of complex development tasks
- Continuously enhance and share knowledge in application development best practices, technologies, methodologies, and standards
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalency in related education and professional work experience
- 8+ years of work experience in a software development role
- 5+ years of experience in a combination of the following: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, MySQL, SQL, or similar database experience, Git or an equivalent distributed version control system/repository
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to collaborate on designs, estimates, and delivery of complex development tasks while acting as a proactive team member in an Agile development environment
- Proficient in verbal and written communication for both technical and business audiences
