JOB SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION:
Manage and operate systems related to a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility while ensuring safety awareness and guidance that will enhance performance by employees and contractors through strict adherence to established procedures and processes.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with regulations and proactively engage with all agencies to prevent reportable violations.
- Participate in the multi-year Production Technician multi-skill progression plan to develop essential skills in maintenance and operations. Completion of this program will prepare the employee for board operator qualifications.
- Conduct job briefings and safety meetings, taking responsibility for Contractor Safety and providing necessary orientations.
- Utilize knowledge of plant systems, drawings, hydraulics, regulating devices, rotating equipment, and troubleshooting.
- Operational responsibilities include operating the control board, conducting operational rounds, performing PM/PDM activities, managing HRSG water chemistry, and monitoring CEMS calibrations.
- Apply skills to conduct inspections, installations, repairs, diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical equipment, performing PMs of mechanical systems in a CCGT facility, both independently and as part of a team. Assist in the inspection, repair, and installation of instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Ensure safe and reliable operations during commissioning and normal operations following the plant's commercial operation date.
- Assist the site team with program development and adherence to processes/programs related to a newly designed and constructed Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant.
- Design, develop, implement, and continuously evaluate programs for which they are responsible, utilizing metrics and reviewing key results.
- Support the operations team in pre-commercial commissioning activities, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners to uphold the highest standards.
- Leverage previous lessons learned and site pre-commissioning insights to refine and enhance operating procedures, training plans, unit operating parameters, alarm management, surveillance testing, work management strategies, and all Operations/Maintenance fundamentals.
- Network with EPC partners and the project team to meet commissioning/testing schedules and resource requirements.
- Ensure all site commissioning and testing reports and turnover packages are received and stored according to the records management policy.
- Complete all required OEM and EPC training classes successfully.
Minimum Education:
- 2 Year Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Production/Process Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Production Technician III: 0 - 2 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an Operations or Maintenance position; OR 4 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
- Production Technician II - I: 2 - 5 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an Operations or Maintenance position; OR 5 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
- Production Technician CRO: 5+ years of experience in a CCGT facility in an Operations or Maintenance position; OR 10 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
- Experience with CCGT Technology.
- 2-3 years of Industrial/Power Plant experience.
- Commissioning experience.
- Applicable Operations and Maintenance experience/skills.
Minimum Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey evaluation results to supervision.
- Ability to interpret and understand P&ID's, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS Test.
- Candidates selected for EEI POSS/MASS testing will be notified via email.
