We are currently seeking a Floating Classroom Teacher for our educational program. This role involves assessing the unique needs of each student, planning and developing curriculum, integrating therapy goals into the classroom, and coordinating support staff.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM; 32.5 hours per week, following the academic calendar.
Compensation: $31.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize assessment tools to evaluate each student's performance level.
- Develop and implement instructional programs tailored to the individual educational needs of students.
- Prepare IEPs, monthly progress reports, and weekly lesson plans.
- Maintain an organized and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with support staff to assess, plan, and execute each student's IEP.
- Assist students with personal care as needed, modeling appropriate behavior.
- Facilitate student mobility and independence during transitions.
- Coordinate with related service providers to ensure therapy goals are met within the classroom.
- Foster positive communication and relationships with staff and professionals to enhance the learning environment.
- Participate in professional development and share insights with colleagues.
- Contribute to team meetings and discussions regarding student progress and needs.
- Ensure a safe and supervised environment for all students.
- Adhere to agency policies and prioritize safety for oneself and others.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Uphold ethical standards and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Special Education with valid NYS Teaching Certification, or Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field with appropriate coursework and provisional certification.
