Position Overview:

Under direct supervision, the selected candidate will participate in a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Academy, receiving essential training aimed at qualifying trainees for the role of Sheriff's Deputy. In a non-sworn capacity, additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend the Basic Peace Officers Academy for comprehensive instruction on law enforcement practices, complemented by rigorous physical fitness training.
  • Study various subjects including firearm usage, defense tactics, first aid, arrest laws, and law enforcement methodologies.
  • Maintain proficiency in all training areas to ensure readiness for future responsibilities.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A reputation for integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Strong initiative and energy.
  • Dependability and good judgment under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills.

Background Requirements:

Applicants must meet specific criteria, including:

  • No felony convictions within the last five years.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • At least 20 years of age at the time of application.
  • Excellent physical condition, capable of passing a comprehensive medical examination and a job-related physical agility test.

Education and Licensing:
