Validator - Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

The Validator is a key member of our team at Awareness Technology, responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our diagnostic instruments and equipment. This role involves collecting and analyzing validation test data to determine whether our products meet customer and in-house requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand specifications and requirements for each product, component, or process to be validated;
  • Design suitable tests to assure safe and effective products;
  • Test products (or sub-units of products) for compliance with specifications, ease of use, limitations, and durability;
  • Maintain documentation of tests performed;
  • Communicate performance defects and other findings to Engineering and the Quality Assurance Manager;
  • Assist customers who have questions about the use and validation of products;
  • Provide input for Owners Manuals and other customer instructions;
  • Maintain the unique identity of each iteration of product or component tested and assure the integrity of the final released version;
  • Oversee EPROM Control and maintain a list of the current validated releases for each firmware and software program;
  • Prioritize projects according to input from Senior Management, Engineering, and Sales;

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in biochemistry, electrical or mechanical engineering, computer science, medical technology or a related scientific field;
  • Experience in writing test plans, project plans, procedures and project schedules;
  • Experience in writing Functional Requirements, Design Specifications;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently;
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred;

Language Skills:

Must be able to read and interpret documents such as drawings, work orders, work instructions; must be able to communicate effectively with others.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
Must have an aptitude for mathematics and science
Ability to analyze technical problems and find solutions

Exemplary attendance and punctuality
Visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field of vision. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment; hearing and speaking ability to exchange information in person or on the telephone; sight ability to read schematics and information

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
