Key Responsibilities

This role is essential in supporting the Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces (HQ PACAF) by orchestrating, implementing, and overseeing recovery operations for exercises and events in collaboration with allied nations across the Indo-Pacific region. The primary work environment is in Hawaii and at various training sites.

Core Duties and Functions

  • Facilitate various task forces for OPLAN development and provide support to colleagues and military leaders in analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP) and assist in administration, budgeting, planning, logistics assessments, support concepts, and coordination with joint service component commands and subordinate headquarters.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to integrate existing assets within the theater and recommend additional resources as necessary for operational enhancement.
  • Travel to various locations to address emerging mission needs. Assess life support requirements and convert these into estimates for engineering planners.
  • Manage multiple concurrent demands and ensure personnel are available to adequately represent the command during periods of high operational tempo.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics support for operations and exercises that impact both current and future operations. Prepare logistics estimates and other necessary documentation to ensure required logistics supply, services, and life support for OPLAN development.
  • Participate in and support the administration, planning, and execution of conferences and exercises in alignment with JCS and INDOPACOM operational planning.
  • Possess a functional understanding of JOPES and monitor OPLAN/exercise data requirements essential for formulating and submitting TPFDD information.
  • Provide guidance, recommendations, and briefings to staff leaders, agency heads, and external organizations regarding operations and exercise design activities.
  • Assist PACAF/A37 in identifying optimal logistics solutions to support operations, aiming to minimize costs while adhering to required timelines.
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications, Experience, and Certifications

  • Familiarity with exercise-planning systems such as JTIMS, ARMS, CAF-SIPT, and/or C2IE is advantageous.

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Certifications

  • Possession of a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Practical knowledge of logistics planning with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a MAJCOM or higher-level command staff.
  • Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach.
  • Able to collaborate and lead within a team environment, demonstrating leadership and customer interaction skills.
  • Proficient in current Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to operate effectively in a demanding environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with the JELC cycles of specific exercises and the ability to plan and coordinate necessary events in support of the JELC.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of all aspects of sustainment and its integration to develop detailed concepts suitable for presentation at the MAJCOM and COCOM levels.
