Position Reports to:Chief Executive Officer
Position Summary:This is an in-house corporate counsel position at Samsung Hvac America, LLC. The primary responsibilities will be to provide a wide range of legal and compliance support and administration to the company.
Candidate must be trustworthy and able to keep all data and communication confidential.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a wide variety of legal tasks as General Counsel of Samsung Hvac America, LLC in areas including but not limited to contracts, litigation, labor and employment, construction, real estate, economic development, and compliance.
- Effectively manage relationships with colleagues by building trusting relationships resulting in early involvement in business matters and an enhanced understanding of legal's contributions.
- Perform daily administrative tasks such as auditing, tracking, and submitting expenses and other reports; managing outside counsel utilization and billing; and effectively and timely managing of internal legal and compliance systems and programs in connection with compliance, contracts, litigation, etc.
- Prepare, send and track correspondence in connection with a wide variety of legal matters.
- Collaborate cross-functionally throughout Samsung and Lennox organizations in North America and globally on a wide variety of matters including but not limited to legal and compliance, public relations, and government relations.
- J.D. from ABA accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
- Thorough knowledge of legal principles and practices
- Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques
- Thorough knowledge of legal contract boilerplate and able to revise contracts, with fallback positions
- Thorough knowledge of legal communication principles and practices
- Advanced computer software experience including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint
- Previous experience in areas such as supply and services agreements, litigation, labor and employment matters, construction contracts, leases, and general compliance

- Must be able to occasionally travel nationally overnight
