Position Overview

Compensation: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Under the guidance of the Store Supervisor and Lead Cashier, the Cashier is responsible for a variety of essential tasks:

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Utilize a computerized register to accurately process customer transactions.
  • Efficiently bag groceries while being attentive to customer needs.
  • Memorize codes for bulk items and produce to ensure smooth operations.
  • Engage in general merchandising tasks, including stocking and organizing products.
  • Maintain a clean and inviting checkout area, assisting customers promptly.
  • Process special product orders and coordinate with department managers.
  • Ensure the register station is kept clean and organized.
  • Verify pricing on products to ensure consistency with shelf labels.
  • Stay vigilant regarding safety and security protocols.
  • Support fellow team members as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess a combination of the following:

Education:
  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
Experience:
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience in cashiering is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate product knowledge to customers.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Capable of working accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Frequent typing on a touchscreen register.
  • Regular handling of products during transactions.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach for products and climb ladders as needed.
Work Schedule

Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
