We are seeking a skilled Facilities Services Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our campus facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform electrical maintenance tasks, including repairing building electrical systems and assisting licensed electricians with non-technical repairs.
- Monitor and perform standard repairs on heating, ventilation, and cooling systems, including cleaning fan coil units and adjusting system controls.
- Fix leaking fixtures, clean waste lines, install water coolers, and assist licensed plumbers with non-technical tasks.
- Perform carpentry and painting tasks, including drywall installation, window replacement, cabinet/countertop replacement, painting, and texturing.
- Assist with general maintenance tasks, including custodial duties and trash removal, as well as kitchen equipment repairs.
- Ensure proper care of equipment and supplies, promote workplace safety, and keep detailed records of work performed.
- High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Technical skills and certifications in one or more building trades, such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow oral or written work order procedural instructions.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues.
- Adept in the use of personal touch screen mobile devices.
