Job Title: Youth Sports Program Coordinator - Flag Football/Flag Football Jr.
If you have a passion for engaging with children in a dynamic sports environment that promotes community involvement, athleticism, and enjoyment, the Youth Sports Program Coordinator role is ideal for you. In this position at the Glen Ellyn Park District, you will be responsible for instructing youths aged 6-12 in Flag Football and Flag Football Jr. You will lead and organize games, sports, and activities alongside fellow instructors to ensure that all participants have a rewarding experience, learn about organized sports, and enhance their skills in Flag Football.
The responsibilities of the Youth Sports Program Coordinator for Flag Football and Flag Football Jr. include:
- Setting up necessary equipment for activities.
- Leading conditioning exercises, skill drills, and age-appropriate training sessions for flag football.
- Providing feedback to the Assistant Facility Manager regarding programming and events.
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborating effectively with other program instructors.
- Familiarizing yourself with the layout of the facility.
- Communicating with parents and offering updates as needed.
- Offering guidance, motivation, and support to all participants.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, reliability, self-motivation, and creativity, along with a strong enthusiasm for working with children. Candidates should have:
- Previous experience working with children of various ages.
- A background in playing football, flag football, rugby, or similar sports.
- The ability to commit to working 1-2 days per week, totaling approximately 3 hours (1.5 hours per session).
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with participants, their parents, and the community.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of hire (training will be provided).
- Reliable transportation for commuting to and from work.
