About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Stamford Health. As a key member of our Out-Patient Radiology department, you will be responsible for utilizing imaging equipment to create diagnostic images in the area of mammography.

Responsibilities
  • Operate mammography and biopsy equipment, preparing exam rooms for patients.
  • Provide patient services using imaging modalities, ensuring accurate and high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain adequate diagnostic exams.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, maintaining a safe clinical environment.
  • Prepare all imaging exams for reading, ensuring correct demographic identification and processing of films.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical quality before releasing patients.
  • Check patient identification, question patients to obtain a patient history or pre-existing condition, and always question female patients regarding pregnancy.
  • Document all relevant information, maintaining quality assurance in the area of mammography.
  • Keep the department running proficiently, regularly checking equipment, accessories, and supplies, and maintaining a clean and stocked exam room.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduated from an accredited radiologic technologist training program approved by the American Medical Association.
  • Valid Radiology license from the State of Connecticut and ARRT or eligible.
  • CPR certified.
  • Documented 100 mammography exams under direct supervision to obtain mammography certification, with annual certification maintenance.
