About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our team at Stamford Health. As a key member of our Out-Patient Radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize imaging equipment to create diagnostic images in the areas of mammography, operating mammography and biopsy equipment, and preparing exam rooms.
  • Provide patient services using imaging modalities, ensuring the highest level of care and safety.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain adequate diagnostic exams, demonstrating competency in age-specific standards.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, practicing in a safe clinical environment and adhering to radiation safety and protection protocols.
  • Prepare all imaging exams for reading, ensuring correct demographic identification and processing of films, and assuring that diagnosis matches procedure for correct billing.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical quality before releasing patients, checking for patient identification and questioning patients to obtain a patient history or pre-existing condition.
  • Document all relevant information, demonstrating quality assurance in the area of mammography, and maintaining licensure, registration, and continuing education requirements.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduated from an accredited radiologic technologist training program approved by the American Medical Association.
  • Valid Radiology license from the State of Connecticut and ARRT or eligible.
  • CPR certified.
  • Documented 100 mammography exams under direct supervision to obtain mammography certification, with annual certification maintenance.
