Children's Mercy Hospital (MO) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Division Director for its Pediatric Emergency Medicine Department. As a key member of the hospital's leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the clinical, educational, and research missions of the department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and advancing the field of pediatric emergency medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Department, overseeing the clinical, educational, and research activities of the team.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the department's mission and goals, ensuring alignment with the hospital's overall objectives.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care and efficient operations.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pediatric emergency medicine, applying evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Represent the department at hospital-wide meetings and committees, advocating for the needs of pediatric emergency medicine.
- MD or equivalent degree in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Current academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
- Strong record of clinical and academic achievement, with a demonstrated commitment to advancing medical education, patient care, and research.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Experience with or a desire to learn and utilize LEAN methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership at partner institutions.
