Human Resources Assistant

At Bell Laboratories Inc, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including greeting applicants, employees, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the applicant log, schedule interviews, and administer pre-employment tests.
- Coordinate the process of staffing temporary employees, including working with various agencies and verifying timesheets.
- Manage the uniform program, handle issues, and review bills for accuracy.
- Follow up with employees who have had their benefit orientations to ensure all paperwork is completed.
- Scan terminated personnel folders and other HR-related documents in a timely and consistent basis.
- Maintain HR-related supplies, such as handbooks and new employee forms.
- Act as the Bell Fitness Center Coordinator, including employee orientation and program scheduling.
- Distribute bi-weekly payroll checks to employees.
- Provide various monthly reports, such as new hire and Department of Labor reports.
- Assist with creating and maintaining personnel files.
- Support the E-Verify process for all new hires and audit I-9 forms.
- Coordinate and implement various employee events.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred.
- One to two years of experience in the human resources field or similar combination of education and experience.
- Prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy required.
