Geisinger Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as an Advanced Acute Care Surgery Nurse Specialist. This role will be based at Geisinger Medical Center, a leading healthcare facility that provides exceptional patient care and services.
About the Job:
This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday rotation. As an Advanced Acute Care Surgery Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical remote telemetry unit. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
• Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet patients' unique needs
• Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, treatments, and diagnostic studies as prescribed by physicians
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information in electronic medical records
Requirements:
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
• Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
