About the Position

We are seeking a Compliance and Risk Management Lead to join our team at Denali Staffing Group. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. You will also coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills are required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and review of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and support professional development.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
  • Cash Management: Oversee cash management functions including banking, cash flow forecasting, and investment activities.
  • Software and Systems: Manage and enhance the accounting software and systems to ensure data integrity and efficient workflows.
