Role Overview
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is looking for a fellowship-trained, board-certified, or eligible Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician. The division comprises distinguished leaders in the field, each with unique clinical expertise, committed to educating future leaders in MFM. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient maternal and fetal medicine services, managing labor and delivery, participating in faculty call schedules, and offering outreach and consultative services across multiple regional healthcare systems. Faculty members are also engaged in translational, epidemiologic, and clinical research, along with community engagement initiatives in the local area.
Educational Responsibilities
The selected physician will have opportunities to educate medical students, residents, and MFM fellows. They may also be invited to serve on various university, college, departmental, divisional, and hospital committees as needed. Ideal candidates should possess exceptional clinical experience and skills in managing a wide range of Maternal-Fetal Medicine cases. Mentorship of residents and fellows in research or quality improvement projects, as well as participation in administrative meetings, is expected. This position is designed for 100% effort at the assistant or associate professor level, with academic rank based on experience and credentials. A commitment to excellence in clinical care, patient safety, and satisfaction is essential, alongside a strong interest in teaching, community involvement, and research.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Board Certified or Eligible in OBGYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine
- Completion of an accredited residency and fellowship program
- Eligibility for academic appointment at the assistant or associate professor level
- Possession or eligibility for an active medical license in the state of Ohio
