The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker and will be responsible for providing clinical interventions, including counseling and assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform assessments and provide clinical interventions, including counseling (group and individual)
  • Collaborate with other professionals, contribute to care planning, and coordinate interdisciplinary care
  • Assist in transitional care planning, connecting patients with community resources upon release
  • Administer Cognitive Behavior Therapy for individuals with Substance Use Disorders, both individually and in groups
  • Conduct assessments for patients preparing for release
  • Offer education and counseling to develop life skills and address Substance Use Disorder-related issues
  • Contribute to treatment and care plans
  • Review patient records, gather data, and complete necessary documentation
  • Make recommendations to care teams, foster effective communication, and collaborate with patients and other disciplines
  • Document and assess patient progress in programs, assisting with discharges and transfers in coordination with other rehabilitation programs
  • Collaborate with institutional partners and custody staff to evaluate patient participation and progress
  • Attend required case conferences, meetings, training sessions, and committees
Requirements
  • Valid and active California Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science
  • At least 12 consecutive months of performing similar services within the last 3 years
  • Must have the required certificates relevant to the assigned specialized area
