At Western Digital, we are on a mission to push the boundaries of data storage technology. As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming new technologies into industry-leading Hard Disk Drives (HDDs).

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to develop C++ firmware for System On Chip (SoC) ASIC's that control complex, electro-mechanical subsystems. Your expertise will be essential in harnessing the potential of emerging technologies and turning them into innovative products.

Responsibilities
  • Develop firmware for SoC ASIC's using state-of-the-art prototyping platforms
  • Pioneer the integration of new technologies into industry-leading HDDs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and quality
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Strong background in embedded systems and C/C++ firmware development
  • Knowledge of ARM processors, SAS, SATA, PCIe, UFS, DDR3 & DDR4 DRAM, SPI Flash, and NAND Flash
  • Proficiency in firmware debug using In-Circuit probes and schematic analysis of printed circuit boards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities
