Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medication Assistant to join our team at SSM Health. As a Medication Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by assisting with medication administration, monitoring for side effects, and maintaining accurate inventory of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Assist with medication administration to residents according to their established care plan and in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Quality Care: Provide quality care to subacute/chronically ill residents, assist in the care of acutely ill residents, and administer medications according to standards of care.
  • Communication: Participate in report at the beginning of each shift, communicate throughout the shift with team nurse, and report any changes of condition or unusual symptoms immediately.
  • Documentation: Complete all assigned documentation requirements, including medication/treatment administration, and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Preventative Measures: Monitor to ensure that preventative measures, as specified on the residents personalized care card, are in place.
  • Safety: Comply with safety policies/procedures to ensure safe practices for residents, staff, self, and others.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: One year geriatric experience

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - State of Work Location
