The Vascular Biology Center at Augusta University is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing animal colonies for in vivo experiments, exposing pups and adult mice to oxygen-induced and laser-induced retinal injury, harvesting and analyzing tissue samples, and assisting with interpretation of study results.
Responsibilities- Cell culture and mouse tissue collection.
- Molecular biology assays of cultured cells and tissue: Western blot and qRT-PCR.
- Tissue sectioning and histology.
- Data analysis and record keeping.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field, and experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory. A Bachelor's degree with three years of research and/or clinical experience may also be considered.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with cell culture, mouse tissue collection, and molecular cell biology techniques is highly desirable.
