Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations: Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising, work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and assist with analysis of sales, reports, and labor.
  • Team Development: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
  • Customer Service: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and respond promptly to customer needs and questions.
  • Leadership: Function as point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the Team Leader, set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution, and foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
Requirements
  • Experience: 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy, extensive knowledge of Specialty products, growth mindset towards greater responsibility and ownership, and excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, and work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
