Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with a range of procedures using fluoroscopic imaging, including angiography and interventional procedures.
  • Use proper radiation safety measures to conform to the ALARA principle and ensure patient safety.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate staffing for patient appointments and procedures.
  • Assure that staff explains Interventional Radiology procedures to patients and obtains consent forms.
  • Participate in the Universal Protocol for all procedures and ensure that images meet radiologist requirements.
  • Check the status of imaging and specialty equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
  • Troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Order equipment, film, and supplies and manage inventories.
  • Assure that patient information files are prepared and filed correctly.
  • Review and submit reports showing the number and type of examinations conducted.
  • Perform QC Lead duties as an Interventional Radiology Technologist as required.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and physicians regarding patient preparation, procedure results, and any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain proper documentation for internal and external regulatory compliance.
  • Systematically collect, assess, and document data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide procedural care for patients.
Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital supporting fluoroscopy and c-arm/surgical procedures.
  • Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiac Interventional Radiography, Vascular Interventional Radiography, or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography within 24 months of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment, with frequent interruptions and a high level of concentration required to perform tasks accurately. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.

The position requires the ability to stand, push, pull, and lift patients, as well as perform difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills. The successful candidate will be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
