Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain ultimate authority for the safe operation of the aircraft.
- Ensure the aircraft is in compliance with airworthiness standards and that all necessary documentation is onboard.
- Make informed decisions regarding flight acceptance, rejection, or deviation based on operational conditions.
- Utilize effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) techniques.
- Represent MHM Publishing Inc positively to all stakeholders, including vendors, team members, and patients.
- Engage actively in the organization's Safety Management System.
- Gather comprehensive briefings on flight objectives, weather conditions, and operational procedures.
- Confirm that weather and aircraft performance criteria are met according to the applicable regulations.
- Adhere to established flight planning protocols.
- Ensure compliance with weight and balance requirements as per the Flight Manual.
- Promptly report any known or suspected regulatory violations to the Chief Pilot.
- Conduct thorough checks of all aircraft equipment.
- Provide appropriate briefings to medical crew members and passengers for each flight phase.
- Report maintenance issues to the relevant personnel and keep the operational control center informed of the aircraft's status.
- Stay well-informed of the General Operations Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, and other pertinent regulatory documents.
- Participate in pre-flight risk assessments.
- Be responsible for Tier Two operational control functions.
