Role: ED Technician - Fairfield Hospital
Schedule: Part-Time Nights
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or designated healthcare professional, adhering to all applicable regulations and organizational policies.
- Assist with fundamental patient needs, including comfort measures, vital sign assessments, personal hygiene, mobility support, lab specimen collection, ECGs, basic wound management, and other specialized unit tasks as directed by an RN.
- Conduct patient rounds as assigned to ensure ongoing care and safety.
- Provide dedicated patient safety companion services when necessary.
- Act as a communication bridge between patients and nursing staff to relay any changes or concerns.
- Exhibit high-quality customer service to patients, their families, community providers, visitors, and fellow employees.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation related to patient care.
- Participate in handoff reports to share vital information regarding patient care and departmental needs.
- Perform assigned tasks once competency has been confirmed.
- Gather relevant data within the scope of practice.
- Conduct patient screenings as necessary.
- Promote quality and safety by actively seeking improvements in processes and systems to enhance patient care delivery.
- Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, resolve conflicts, and manage stress effectively.
- Maintain familiarity with organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
Licensing & Certifications:
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must be obtained from an approved source prior to engaging in direct patient care).
- Current certification as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Medical Assistant (preferred).
Experience:
- Prior experience in a Patient Care Technician role, nursing support, or relevant healthcare experience, or being a second-year nursing student in a Registered Nurse (RN) program (preferred).
