Key Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the defined scope of practice. The Registered Nurse will also guide patient and family education and oversee the activities of other nursing staff while upholding care standards in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. Responsibilities include:
  • Assessing patients' conditions, including vital signs and cardiac rhythms, to develop personalized care plans.
  • Monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment for remote observation.
  • Communicating with physicians regarding changes in patients' clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic results.
  • Administering prescribed medications, including intravenous treatments, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Providing hands-on patient care, including wound management, treatment administration, assistance with daily living activities, and emotional support.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:
  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
  • Experience with ventilator management is preferred.
  • Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
