Key Responsibilities

Job Summary: Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms from a central telemetry station. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients in their assigned unit. Understanding the principles of growth and development across the lifespan is essential, as is the ability to assess and interpret data reflective of each patient's status.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring waveforms to identify normal rhythms and dysrhythmias.
  • Documenting rhythm strips every shift and as needed, particularly when changes occur.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining telemetry transmitters and receivers.
  • Communicating any abnormal rhythms or changes in a patient's condition to the healthcare team.
  • Providing support and resources to the healthcare team, addressing questions or concerns from patients, families, and visitors.
  • Maintaining compliance with unit and regulatory education requirements.
  • Participating in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Utilizing resources in a cost-effective manner and recommending cost-saving measures.
  • Responding appropriately to crisis situations and seeking guidance as necessary.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Must successfully pass the EKG Exam. Completion of Block 1 Nursing, Technician-Patient Care (PCT), Medical Assistant (MA), Nursing Assistant (NA), Paramedic, or be a current HonorHealth employee in good standing with at least six months of experience, or possess six months of prior telemetry tech experience is required.
