Laboratory Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the department, distributing and assigning work, determining priorities, and scheduling non-routine procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform supervisory functions for assigned staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling.
- Perform advanced/specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques, including duplicating work of others to confirm test results.
- Re-evaluate methodology, make recommended changes, and assist in test interpretation.
- Determine if further testing should be done on samples or if tests should be repeated.
- Check and approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy.
- Initiate quality-control measures and monitor quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards.
- Perform duties of technologist as necessitated by absence or peak workload.
- Complete special projects as requested, including surveys, statistical reports, studies, research, etc.
- Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
- Complete training and competency checklists as appropriate.
- Adhere to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Four to six years of full-time experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- LC-MS or ICP-MS experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree required; degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferred.
- ASCP Certification (preferred, but not required).
