Nuclear Medicine Technologist Per Diem Position

Virtua Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with approved techniques and NRC/ACR standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality nuclear medicine studies according to protocols established by the radiologist and adapt protocols as needed to achieve desired results.
- Administer radioisotopes and perform venipuncture while following established protocols.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of quality control tests.
- Recognize and report any recordkeeping failures or omissions to management or the Radiation Safety Officer.
- Perform routine calibration on equipment without assistance.
- Adhere to safety precautions and use protective devices when handling radiopharmaceuticals to minimize radiation exposure.
- Prepare kits according to manufacturer instructions and use aseptic technique when preparing radiopharmaceutical kits and injecting patients.
- Effectively utilize RIS, PACS, and hospital-based computer programs while maintaining confidentiality of electronic communications.
- Respond to changes in the work schedule and cover all shifts on a rotational basis, including on-call duties.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Current N.J. license in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Registered by the ARRT and/or certified by the NMTCB preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
