Position Summary:

We are in search of a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. In this crucial position, you will collaborate with the sales department to finalize the financial aspects associated with upscale residential remodeling projects. Your expertise will significantly influence the financial success and operational efficiency of our organization by delivering accurate cost assessments and aiding in the development of competitive proposals that align with both client aspirations and corporate objectives.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline; or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience.

Demonstrated experience as a cost estimator or in a comparable role within the residential remodeling sector.

Strong knowledge of residential remodeling methodologies, materials, project management principles, and cost estimation practices.

High proficiency in Excel-based estimating software; familiarity with WinEstimator is highly desirable.

Ability to interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Creative problem-solving skills with the capacity to manage extensive information.

Exceptional analytical and mathematical abilities.

Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

Awareness of local, state, and federal construction regulations.

Experience with digital takeoff processes.

Proficient in preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals.

Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, and sales personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize historical data from project reviews and budget reports to maintain and update the estimating database in WinEstimator.

Provide preliminary project cost estimates based on historical data and client requirements.

Conduct comprehensive cost estimations using WinEstimator to ascertain the total projected cost of projects by evaluating the complete scope of work.

Generate printed cost estimate reports and concise specifications for client presentations.

Establish pricing for change orders as requested by project managers and design team members.

Draft construction contracts that include terms, conditions, and detailed specifications.

Collaborate with the sales team to prepare and submit bids and proposals for prospective projects.

Ensure the timely completion of estimates and submissions to meet deadlines.

Populate project budgets and labor exports upon contract finalization.
