Job Summary

We seek an experienced Staff Attorney to provide expert legal services to unaccompanied children in need of representation through zealous direct representation and pro bono facilitation. This role requires a strong background in immigration law, cultural competence, and cross-cultural communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship to KIND pro bono attorneys and direct legal representation to clients.
  • Supervise interns and/or other non-attorney staff as needed.
  • Place cases with pro bono attorneys and build relationships between KIND and the pro bono community.
  • Develop training resources and present trainings to pro bono attorneys and community groups.
  • Represent KIND at local coalitions, courts, and agencies.
Requirements
  • J.D. and admission to the local state bar.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience practicing immigration law and working with children or vulnerable populations.
  • Strong record of cultural competence and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
