We are seeking a skilled and proactive Business Analyst to join our team at Nesco Inc. This role is vital for accurately capturing, documenting, and transforming business requirements into actionable insights and reports. Key projects include migrating dashboards and analytics to Power BI, consolidating data stores, and developing data lakes using MS Fabrik. The role also involves gathering requirements for updates to the sub-ledger platform, which adheres to ASC606 revenue recognition rules for monthly financial bookings into the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requirement Gathering & Documentation:
    • Partner with business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document requirements for new and existing operational reporting needs.
    • Create detailed Business Requirements Documents outlining both functional and technical specifications.
    • Collaborate closely with BI Engineers, Data Analysts, and Report Developers to translate business needs into technical specifications.
    • Collect and document requirements for updates to the sub-ledger platform, ensuring alignment with recognition standards.
  • Project Management Support:
    • Support the SCRUM Master in tracking project timelines, ensuring that deliverables meet business objectives.
    • Contribute in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to maintain effective communication between the BI team and business stakeholders.
  • Data Integration & Validation:
    • Collaborate with the Data Architect and BI Engineers to understand data flows from systems like Salesforce CRM, Epic AMS, and the Accounting General Ledger into the centralized data store.
    • Guarantee that data integration processes fulfill business requirements and assist in validating data accuracy and completeness.
    • Work together with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure sub-ledger updates are consistent with general ledger and financial reporting standards.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Work with business users to design and prototype dashboards and reports in Power BI that align with business objectives.
    • Support the transition from legacy reporting platforms to Power BI.
    • Confirm BI solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with organizational strategic goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Act as the primary liaison for business stakeholders, facilitating clear and effective communication between business units and the BI team.
    • Hold regular meetings with stakeholders to review project progress, address issues, and gather feedback.
    • Disperse information regarding milestone deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate closely with QA Testers to ensure delivered solutions meet specified requirements and are defect-free.
    • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate with stakeholders to obtain sign-off on deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably involving a Business Intelligence or Data Analytics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of BI tools and platforms, specifically Power BI, SSIS, and SSAS.
  • Proficient with data integration from platforms like Salesforce CRM, Epic AMS, and Accounting General Ledger.
  • Knowledge of ASC606 revenue recognition standards and their application in financial systems.
  • Background working in Accounting and Finance with a solid understanding of financial reporting and general ledger systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in a SCRUM environment is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
  • Experience in financial and operational reporting.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
