Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Phoenixville Area Middle Schl. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining school buildings and grounds in a safe and operable condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing repairs, electrical work, and carpentry.
  • Maintain and repair doors, locks, hinges, and related hardware.
  • Assist in the upkeep of buildings, including roofs, ceilings, walls, windows, and floors.
  • Maintain and repair playground equipment and fences.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from school staff and address urgent repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and school district policies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
  • Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals and instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting and carrying tools and materials.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with school staff and maintenance team members.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
