Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Operator I to join our team at General Dynamics - Ordnance and Tactical Systems (PA). As a Production Operator I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Monitor Equipment: Set up and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
  • Monitor and Report: Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and Repair: Report any malfunctions or abnormalities and make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
  • Perform Work Safely: Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Essential Duties
  • Operate Equipment: Operates, tests, and monitors assigned equipment according to established guidelines for an organization.
  • Document Maintenance Needs: Observes and conducts operation of equipment and documents maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshoot Complex Issues: Troubleshoots control panels, error lights, and messages to ensure proper equipment function. May communicate with equipment technicians relating to highly complex issues.
  • Verify Equipment Data: Verifies equipment data for reporting.
  • Support Installation: Supports and assists with the installation of operating equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience: 0-3 years' experience
  • OR Equivalent Combination: OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical Training: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to Gather Information: Ability to gather and document information.
  • Mechanical and Safety Knowledge: Mechanical and Safety knowledge.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Standing: May need to stand for long periods at a time.
  • Regular Movement: Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work Environment: Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
